JianQuan Hong was born in 1982 in China. He studied chemistry inJiangnan Uinversity, where he got his Master’s degree in engineering in 2008. He then moved to the group of Prof. Xigeng Zhou atFuan University, where he obtained his Ph.D. in 2012 working on the synthesis and reactivity of rare-earth metal methylidene complexes. In the same year, he joined Prof. Limin Wu's group at Fuan University as a postdoctoral fellow. In January 2015, he started his independent research at Jiangnan Uinversity.


Hong’s research interests include trifluoromethylation reactions, heterocycles synthesis, and transition metal-catalyzed synthesis of fine chemicals.

Hong has taught the following courses: Organic Chemistry, Advanced Organic Chemistry.


1.Cationic rare-earth trimethylsilyl amide complexes promoted aminocarbonylation/ cyclization. 2016-2018, funded bythe National Natural Science Foundation of China (No. 21502070).

2.Studies on new reactions of rare earth metals and nono-classic divalent rare earth metal complexes as well as their applications, 2013-2014, funded by China Postdoctoral Science Foundation (2013M531110).
